OT get that kind of things a lot, been like this as long as I can remember. The other sections get bot spam from time to time as well. The mods always act fast, when they're on that is.

Like pwnd said just don't post in it, if you're brave enough to go in the post then just report it.

Why would you suspect a bot is doing this if it's kiddy porn. Kiddy porn sites don't advertise for obvious reasons. People who host them and people who visit them go to jail if they're caught. And advertising is probably the easiest way to get caught.

I once witnessed a very disturbed person rampaging through this site posting obscene and disturbing pictures quicker than the mods could delete his posts and block his IP. There are disturbed people out there with access to the internet.

OMG lad you guys got rid of that post. I report posts whenever I see them, normally there are links only but once there were normal porno pictures. I never even thought someone could be sick enough to do that.

Here is an idea. Maybe we need an "instant censorship" button next to the report button for extreme situations and the first person to click that causes the thread to be hidden (to be reviewed by mods) so no-one else has to see it? Anyone who misused the button to troll would be banned. I don;t know how difficult it is to code that and test it, the idea just popped into my head - mods are not online and checking every thread all the time simultaneously but users are.

I have seen plenty of threads with actual pictures in them. That is what the End button is for. If you don't want to see the pictures as soon as it loads hit the End button. It will take you to the bottom of the page where you can scroll up and hit the report button without seeing the pictures.

Adding any other buttons is going to take alot of work. Look at what happened to the search for the longest time. The servers couldn't handle it or something so they pretty much had gotten rid of it till they upgraded. Adding things on is going to use up server space and could cause problems.

As for mods not always being online you can try to get onto IRC and catch the mods or even the admins and tell them about it. They are quite friendly and will not bite. That is what I had to do today since the mods were afk. I just told Inde about it and she took care of it asap. I also so make me a mod since I find them before Jeremey does.

I reported it too. Didn't know how to get past the pictures until I read I pwnd u's post. LOL... still don't know because I don't see a button marked 'end' in my browser.

I Pwnd U, are you referring to the link that says, "View First Unread"?

I just always have guru up on my computer. So whenever I go over to it that is what pops up. Thus how I am that active.

No, on your keyboard there will be a button marked end by Home, Insert, Delete, Page Up, Page Dn keys. Hit that and it will take you to the end of the page.

Well, to be honest, porn doesn't bother me (not talking about kiddie porn though). The biggest problem with these ads is that if you click on the links you might end up trapped on that site and the only way to get out is rebooting computer. There is also a good chance of getting a trojan or other virus. Computer at work (because some clown actually tried to view one of these sites) had it's homepage hijacked. Took me a week to get it cleared up.

I work with E-mail security as a consultant. We see this all the time on business forums. The sad part is how they bot the forums and E-mail accounts. Most of this is done by laptop in some E-cafe. By the time the authorities get an idea of where these bots are spammed out of the perpetrator is long gone. Same with the hosts of these sites.

The best you can hope for is a slip up and the "bad guys" do slip up from time to time. Guru has very good IT people who are "with it". If you see a "bad" post let a mod know they will investigate and do the appropriate action.
